چکیده

Rings based on pure iron have been manufactured by laser powder bed fusion. Different experimental conditions implemented to manufacture simple rings called “bulk”. Selected were used fabricate “structured” rings, made up of stacking lamellae separated weakly densified metal zones or spacers. The magnetic properties these measured in order determine their maximum flux density, permeability and losses. These properties, as well the organizations domains observed Magnetic Force Microscopy, compared with those obtained for machined from castings parts spark plasma sintered parts. “bulk” resulting fusion exhibit relatively high losses 80 W.kg−1 at 50 Hz under 1 T. However, this value can be lowered about 30 after a SPS treatment 750 °C. In addition lowering losses, annealing increases densification material thus flux. spacing dense less spacers (“structured rings”), makes it possible also greatly reduce Dividing factor 2 is implementing geometric arrangement.

Predictive Simulation of Process Windows for Powder Bed Fusion Additive Manufacturing: Influence of the Powder Bulk Density

The resulting properties of parts fabricated by powder bed fusion additive manufacturing processes are determined by their porosity, local composition, and microstructure. The objective of this work is to examine the influence of the stochastic powder bed on the process window for dense parts by means of numerical simulation. The investigations demonstrate the unique capability of simulating ma...

Study of the Microstructure and Cracking Mechanisms of Hastelloy X Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

Hastelloy X (HX) is a Ni-based superalloy which suffers from high crack susceptibility during the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process. In this work, the microstructure of as-built HX samples was rigorously investigated to understand the main mechanisms leading to crack formation. The microstructural features of as-built HX samples consisted of very fine dendrite architectures with dimensions...

Fabrication and Characterization of a Low Magnetic Zr-1Mo Alloy by Powder Bed Fusion Using a Fiber Laser

A low magnetic Zr-1Mo alloy was fabricated by a powder bed fusion (PBF) process using a fiber laser. The microstructure, surface morphology, and pore distribution of the as-built Zr-1Mo alloy were observed. Its magnetic susceptibility and Vickers hardness were evaluated by magnetic susceptibility balance and a microindentation tester, respectively. The as-built Zr-1Mo alloy mainly consisted of ...
